Itinerary Details

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival & Full Day City Tour. Night Train To Sapa & Overnight On Train (L/D)

Morning activities:

Our guide and driver welcome you at Noi Bai International airport flight # AK618 @ 6.15 am – 8.20 am (Penang – Hanoi)

Note: Flight from Penang to Hanoi has 3 days each week on Monday, Tuesday and Sunday.

On arrival in Noi Bai airport, your guide and driver will meet you and transfer you to downtown.

Your first visit is Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to learn more about the great Vietnam President. The Ho Chi Minh Complex, which includes Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum – the final resting place of the beloved national hero, Uncle Ho – and President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house where he lived off and on from 1958 to 1969. You’ll also see the Ho Chi Minh Museum where you can learn about this remarkable man and what he did for Vietnam and the world. Have lunch at a restaurant. Check in at the hotel.

Afternoon activities:

Continue your journey this afternoon by visiting the Temple of Literature. Established in 1076, it was Vietnam’s first university Quoc Tu Giam to educate Vietnam’s royalty, mandarins and members of the elite.

The rest of the time is making a cyclo tour through Hanoi’s Old Quarter, also known as the ‘36 streets’. This area of narrow streets and alleys is home to literally thousands of small businesses and shopkeepers. Here is the great chance to explore with plenty of photo shooting.

End your day trip by enjoying a Water Puppet show at a theater near Hoan Kiem Lake. This is a uniquely northern Vietnamese art which expresses the scenes from rural life. Have dinner at a local restaurant.

Evening activities:

Our guide and driver welcome you at hotel at 20.30 pm and transfer you to Hanoi Railway (Tran Quy Cap gate) to taking night train to Lao Cai. Spending your night on train (AC soft sleeper – coach 4 berths)

Notes: The itinerary can be flexible base on your arrival flight schedule; some visiting sites can be changed today to have more time at sites with your time (with small surcharge).

Day 2: Lao Cai Arrive - Sapa & Visit Cat Cat Village - Ham Rong Mountain. O/n In Sapa (B/L/D)

Morning activities:

you arrive at Lao Cai Railway Station at 5.30 am, our guide and driver welcome you at the outside gate and you have a relaxation at Thien Hai hotel after a night on the train.

After that transfer you to Sa Pa town. Sa Pa is seen as a foggy town in the north of Vietnam and it has got all the interesting scenes from spectacular mountain views to colorful hill tribe markets. En route to your hotel in SaPa town you will enjoy the cloudy sights surrounding mountains and valleys as picturesque. On arrival in Sapa, Have breakfast at a restaurant.

Then you spend your time trekking on the road from Sa Pa winds through hilly terrain and pass cross terraced rice fields to reach Cat Cat cultural village – 3 kms far away from Sa Pa town. Here you will have an overview of the traditional customs of the ethnic Black H’mong minority. Stop by a stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station, constructed by the French during the colonial era in Viet Nam. Have lunch at restaurant.

Afternoon activities:

Continuing to visit Ham Rong Mountain is an attractive tourist area in the center of Sa Pa town and the mountain is named Ham Rong (Jaw of Dragon). You will have chances to climb up the San May (Cloud Yard) to enjoy the panorama of Sapa town, visit the orchid gardens with beautiful and colorful flowers. Have dinner at a restaurant.

Evening activities:

Evening is the time for wandering around Sapa town and enjoying the night market in Sapa town centre. Sapa is famous for dried and BBQ dishes, you can taste it along the street in the market. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: More Trek Lao Chai & Ta Van Village. Night Train Back Hanoi (B/L/D)

Morning activities:

After breakfast at the hotel, this morning the guide and driver will welcome you at the hotel and take you to Lao Chai village. Here you start to make a trekking time to Lao Chai village. You follow the road down the hill and have the views of the Muong Hoa valley and magnificent surroundings of mountains and rice terrace fields. En route you can meet people from many ethnic groups (H’mong, Zay, and Red Dao), stopover at stalls along the way where they serve tea, fruits and sweets. You turn off the main road and take to a local path, arriving in the Black H’mong village of Lao Chai. At the village you will experience the daily life of the villagers.

After that you leave Lao Chai to Ta Van village where the Zay hill tribes live. Have a rest and taste a delicious lunch prepared by your local guide in a local house.

Afternoon activities:

This afternoon you trek up and downhill and through bamboo forest then relax beside the waterfall. Explore the Red Dao village of Giang Ta Chai where you will also have the chance to see their daily activities.

The driver picks you up at Giang Ta Chai and ride you back Sa Pa town. After that driver transfers you to Lao Cai Train station. On arrival you are free to have your own dinner at restaurant near train station.

Evening activities:

Taking the night train back to Ha Noi. Spending the night on a train with AC soft sleeper – coach 4 berths leave Lao Cai train station at 21.40 pm.

Day 4: Hanoi Arrive Back - Halong Bay. O/n On Board (B/L/D)

Morning activities:

You arrive in Hanoi Railway station at 5.30 am, our guide and driver welcome you and transfer you to Sen restaurant to have a massage after a night on the train to fresh yourself. Have breakfast at a restaurant.

Then you leave Hanoi for Halong Bay. Spend 3,5 hours including a 20-minutes stop on the way to reach Halong bay at the wharf to check in on board.

Afternoon activities:

Savor a delectable lunch along the limestone islands of Bai Tu Long Bay, heading to Vung Vieng fishing village – one of the largest fishing villages in Halong Bay to see the life of local fishermen. You choose one of two options for discovering the bay

Option 1: Take a bamboo rowing boat trip around Vung Vieng Fishing Village.
Option 2: Take kayak and go kayaking by yourself with help and instruction of tour guide around the village.

After that you return to cruise and have a bath then relax as the sun starts to set. You enjoy the Happy Hour at the bar and on the sun deck while cooking demonstrations are organized at restaurants. Have dinner on board.

Evening activities:

Communicate with other guests, you can ask our staff and arrange a night squid fishing or just laze around. Singing and dancing activities are available till 22h00.

Overnight aboard on Halong Bay.

Day 5: Halong Bay - Hanoi. O/n In Hanoi (B/L/D

Morning activities:

Enjoy the sunrise on the bay and then start your new day with Tai Chi exercise on the sundeck.

Then you catch a morning view of seascapes with a cup of tea or coffee, have breakfast while cruising toward Thien Canh Son Cave.

Spend the time to visit Thien Canh Son Cave – the medium size and less visited cave in Bai Tu Long Bay. Disembark on the wharf.

Afternoon activities:

Our driver transfers you back to Hanoi city. Spend more 3.5 hours to get back to your hotel in Hanoi and have a short break 20 minutes en route. Arrive back in Hanoi at 17.00pm and checked into the hotel. Have a buffet dinner at SEN restaurant.

Evening activities:

Evening is your free time to experience Hanoi city in your own way. You can enjoy coffee or taste street foods along streets around the Old Quarter and Opera House. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Hanoi Depart (B)

After breakfast at hotel, our driver drops you off Noi Bai International airport for taking flight back home flight # 619 @ 8.50 am – 12.50 pm (Hanoi – Penang).
