Morning activities
Our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel around 08:00. Then start our day visiting two special iconic architectural landmarks of Saigon. The Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. It was built between 1877 and 1883. The cathedral still remains an active church with services each day. It’s also a very favored backdrop for Vietnamese wedding photographs.
From here, we will take a short walk to the Opera House. From a bomb shelter to housing the parliamentary Lower House. It has an interesting history. Restored in 1995 the Opera House has returned to its roots and is once again a theater.
Then, our trip will continue to visit the Reunification Palace. It’s once a symbol of the South Vietnamese Government. It was here on 30 April 1975, that the war ended when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates. See the war room, the banquet hall and the presidential office with the unusual gifts which have been received.
Afternoon activities
After lunch we keep enjoying the War Museum. Where our tour guide will tell the story of the city’s darkest and most tragic time during the Vietnam War. The museum displays military aircraft, many photographs and weaponry …
After that head to Cho Lon market – the city’s Chinatown and Thien Hau Pagoda. With intricate friezes, carved tableaus and impressive incense coils. Then observe street life with a cyclo ride through the narrow streets to Binh Tay market that sells everything from hats to dried squid. Our Saigon day tour will finish at the hotel around 17:00 after visiting & shopping at Binh Tay Market.
