1. Where is Yen Minh?

Yen Minh is a small border district located in the NorthEast of Ha Giang province. Bordering Yunnan district (China) to the North, Meo Vac district to the East, Quan Ba district to the West and Bac Me district to the South. Yen Minh Ha Giang is located on Highway 4C, about 98 km northeast of Ha Giang city. The entire area covers an area of 783.65 square kilometers and is divided into 16 communities.

3. How to get to Yen Minh?

About 98 km from Northeast of Ha Giang city center and about 390 km far from Ha Noi, it will take visitors about 4 to 5 hours to travel, while resting and admiring the scenery on both sides of the road. Currently, there are still no bus or passenger car routes running from Ha Giang to Yen Minh district, so motorbikes or personal cars are popular means of transport. 3.1. Traveling by motorbike

You start from Hanoi City Center, transfer to Thang Long bridge or Nhat Tan bridge to join Hanoi – Lao Cai highway. Through the toll booth of Binh Xuyen – Vinh Phuc district, Phat goes to DT 302 and then DT 310, go straight to the right fork into National Highway 2C, new Cau Lien section, continue until Doi Can T-junction and then Can Continue onto National Highway 2, keep going on National Highway 2 until Ha Giang city.

Starting from Ha Giang city, everyone ran all the way to Nguyen Trai – Nguyen Van Linh. After that, you continue to run through Highway 4C to pass Quan Ba Heaven Gate and Co Tien Mountain for about 30 km and you will reach Yen Minh district.

Currently in the center of Ha Giang city, there are many shops that offer car rental services and bring cars to the hotel you are staying at. You just need to contact the car shop owners in advance, inform them of the car pick-up date and hotel address, and they will bring the car to your door. Isn’t that convenient?

4. When is the best time to travel to Yen Minh?

5. Top sightseeing & things to do in Yen Minh

5.1. Na Luong Cave

Na Luong Cave is about 25 km from the center of Yen Minh Ha Giang in Mau Long commune. The cave was discovered in 2010 and is considered the most beautiful cave in Ha Giang. The cave entrance is very wide, about 30m wide, with many precious woods. Such as nails, slices, grinds… In the cave there are many continuous partitions and many stalactite columns, the colors and shapes are very beautiful and interesting.

5.2. En Cave

En Cave is located deep in a rocky cliff, so it is very mysterious, making visitors always want to visit and explore. The cave’s ceiling is high and wide, able to welcome many visitors at the same time. In the cave there is a small lake, the water in the lake is so clear that you can see the bottom of the lake. Amidst beautiful nature, En Yen Minh cave is also an ideal camping location, giving visitors the most wonderful feeling.

5.3. Yen Minh pine forest

Yen Minh pine forest in Ha Giang is located about 100 km northeast of the city center along Highway No. 4. Currently, to get to Du Gia village, tourists are forced to travel by motorbike because there is no public transport to get there.

5.9 Yen Minh market fair

Yen Minh Market only opens every Sunday, so when it is not yet clear, people from the Tay, Nung, Dao, Mong… ethnic groups wear traditional costumes from all over the streets. gather at the market to exchange and buy and sell food.

In particular, almost everyone brings some specialties of their people to the market such as: vegetables, fruits, agricultural tools, household appliances, fine arts products, livestock, poultry…

The dining spots are also crowded with people, selling many dishes such as: thang co, noodle shop, pho… In addition, the Mong bird selling area is also a place that attracts a lot of attention. 6. Specialties in Yen Minh

6.1. Men Men dish

It is not a delicacy, but Men Men makes it difficult for many people to forget when they taste it once. The dish made from local corn kernels is the daily food of the Mong people. After each harvest season, the Mong people dry corn on the porches or kitchens, waiting until it is completely dry before using it to make mene. However, to get a delicious finished bowl, you have to go through many steps and time.

6.2. Au Tau Porridge

Coming to Ha Giang and not eating Au Tau porridge is considered not having eaten all Ha Giang cuisine. This is porridge made from Au tubers. Au Tau tubers are often found in high mountains and cold climates. In addition to contributing to delicious dishes, they are also medicinal. According to medicine, au tau has a spicy taste, a hot nature, and has very good medicinal effects. Since ancient times, Mong people have used guava root soaked in wine to massage and treat pain and colds. Also used to make porridge to relieve colds. Later, the Kinh people added spices, meat, and eggs to create a unique dish.

6.3. Buckwheat cake

Every flowering season, people here harvest buckwheat seeds to dry. Then grind it into powder to make cakes. To make such a delicious cake, people have to go through many steps. First, buckwheat seeds must be dried enough and then ground by hand.

6.4. Thang Co

Thang Co is a specialty that can only be found in mountainous areas, so many tourists from the bottom up enjoy it, a rustic dish that has a strange appeal. According to the Mong village elders, Thang Co is a transliteration of the name “Thang Co”, meaning bone soup. In the Thang Co pot there are mainly bones, cattle meat and internal organs, mainly horse meat.
