Tam Thanh Pagoda, also known as Thanh Thien Pagoda, has a unique location in a stone cave of Tam Thanh Cave in the Nhi Thanh – Tam Thanh Cave – To Thi Mountain – Mac Dynasty Citadel. The pagoda dating back to the Le Dynasty is a historical relic located in Tam Thanh ward, Lang Son city, Lang Son and about 160km from the center of Hanoi capital, towards the Northeast.

Accordingly, people will depart from the center of Hanoi capital, cross Chuong Duong bridge and go straight on Co Linh street. Following National Highway 1A, you will go through Bac Ninh province to Bac Giang province, following the Bac Giang – Lang Son highway. When arriving in Lang Son city, just cross Ky Cung bridge, continue about 1km to reach Tam Thanh pagoda.

4.1 Traveling by motorcycles and cars

Through Tam Quan gate, you will step inside the cave, feeling a spiritual, mysterious and magical space. With many Buddhist shrines, on the cave wall there is also a poem by Ngo Thi Si describing the beauty of Tam Thanh pagoda amidst the wild, majestic, and indomitable mountains and forests.

The white Amitabha Buddha statue is gentle, pure and dignified. The statue was carved directly into the cliff as it stood in the form of a magical painting. The Buddha statue has an architectural style and partly represents the Buddhist ideology of our country under the Le – Mac dynasties. The statue is 202 cm high, 65cm wide in ao dai position, feet in the middle, hands facing the ground.

5.2. Participating in festivals at the temple

If you come to Lang in early spring, don’t forget to attend the Tam Thanh Pagoda Festival held on January 15 every year. It’s attracting a large number of tourists from all over. The highland ethnic minority community will recreate many cultural practices and beliefs in the fullest and most complete way during the festival. You will have the opportunity to participate in folk games and learn about the culture of the people here.
