1. Where is Phu Vang?

Phu Vang is a coastal plain and lagoon district of Thua Thien Hue province, Vietnam. About 17 km east of Hue city, about 86 km northwest of Da Nang city. With geographical location:

  • The North borders the East Sea.
  • The West borders Huong Tra district and Hue city.
  • The South borders Huong Thuy district.
  • The East borders Phu Loc district.

Phu Vang is located in the hot, humid tropical monsoon climate of the central coastal region of Vietnam. There are two distinct seasons, the rainy season and the dry season.

  • The rainy season is from August of the previous year to January of the following year, the annual rainfall is quite large, on average about 3,000mm. Rain is unevenly distributed throughout the year, focusing mainly on the months of September, October, November and December, accounting for 75-80% of the yearly rainfall.
  • The dry season with hot, dry southwest winds starts from March to August. 4. How to get to Phu Vang district from Hue city?

Phu Vang district is located not far from Hue city, only about 17 km to the East. Starting from the center of Hue city, you move along Hanoi, Hung Vuong, An Duong Vuong and Nguyen Tat Thanh streets about 10 km southeast and then come to a junction with Vo Trac street. 

You turn left onto Vo Trac street and move about 6 km east, then you come to a fork, you turn left to cross Phu Thu bridge. From Phu Thu Bridge, follow Vo Phi Trang street and provincial road DT10C about 1 km northeast to reach the center of Phu Vang district.

5. Sightseeings at Phu Vang

5.1 Thuan An Beach

Thuan An Hue Beach is located in Thuan An town, Phu Vang district, Hue city, 15 km from the city center, equivalent to about 20 minutes by car. Thuan An beach attracts tourists because of its wild beauty with long stretches of fine white sand and clear blue sea water. 5.2 Vinh Thanh Beach

The profession of making hats in Tay Ho village has been around for a long time, for hundreds of years, but it was not until the conical hat was born here that it became known to many people.
