Phai Ve flagpole is located on Phai Ve mountain in the eastern center of Vinh Trai ward, Lang Son city, about 160 km northeast of Hanoi. Before crossing the Ky Cung river to enter the city, you will see a mountain with a red flag with a yellow star fluttering in the distance. That is the flagpole of Phai Ve mountain – Lang Son.

Phai Ve mountain flagpole can be considered one of the famous symbols of Lang Son city. Located on Phai Ve mountain at an altitude of about 80m, this flagpole includes 535 firmly built stone steps. The entire flagpole is built of durable materials such as concrete and stone.

The railing of the stairs going up is made to look like green bamboo stalks, looking quite similar to the Great Wall. Perhaps because the image of the towering flag tower with winding stairs is quite similar to the Great Wall. So this place is known as the miniature version of the Great Wall of Vietnam.

Lang Son roasted pork is famous in Bac Son neighborhood, right near the flagpole. This is a super attractive dish because of the delicious, soft and sweet taste in each piece of meat. Egg rolls are also a specialty in Lang Son city, and have since been popularized in many other cities. True to its name, banh cuon will include both eggs and banh cuon. The process is very simple, the baker will crack an egg into the middle of the cake steamer, close the lid and wait for the egg to cook before using a bamboo stick to roll up the cake layers. 9.1 Citadel of the Mac Dynasty
