The weather in Ngu Chi Son in particular and Lao Cai in general experiences 4 seasons: spring, summer, autumn, winter. In particular, each season will have different changes in the scenery. Therefore, no matter what season you go trekking, you will have the opportunity to admire this colorful natural picture. However, according to Origin Vietnam’s climbing experience conquering Ngu Chi Son, you should come here on:

4. Legend of Ngu Chi Son peak

Legend has it that, since the founding of this land, there has been a giant god in this land. This god has a muscular body, wherever his feet go, the ground sinks there. However, he is a kind-hearted god who loves the people. He loved the poor people, so day and night he leveled the land to work hard in the fields. As time passed, the earth and rocks built up to form a large mountain range and then reached the roof of heaven.

When the Jade Emperor saw this, he became angry and ordered the god of thunder and lightning to come down and attack the giant god’s mountain range. However, even after five days, the god of thunder and lightning could not destroy the mountain range. They were so exhausted that they returned to confess to the Jade Emperor. The mountain range was damaged by thunder and lightning, creating the shape of the mountain pointing straight up like five fingers challenging the blue sky. Since then, the mountain range still exists and stands tall until today.

People living in Ta Giang Phinh valley named the mountain range Ngu Chi Son, meaning five fingers. Every early morning, Ngu Chi Son sometimes hides and appears in the morning mist and clouds covering the mountain top, creating beautiful scenery. In the late afternoon, the mountain top turns from dim green to blue and finally dark purple. This makes visitors enjoy the beautiful scenery here and think of the spiritual and magical things here.
