How Hoang Lien National Park is unique?
It belongs to Hoang Lien Son mountain range in the Sa Pa and Van Ban districts, Lao Cai province. Also it’s plus a partially belongs to Than Uyen District, Lai Chau Province.
With a total internal region of 29,845 ha plus a buffer region of 38,724 ha. The forests in Hoang Lien National Park are largely primitive with rich fauna and flora. There are approximately 66 species of creatures, of which 16 species in Viet Nam’s Red Book, 347 species of birds, 41 species of amphibians and 61 species of reptiles, including thorn frogs found.
Flora system can also be diversified with more than 2,000 species, of which, 66 species have been included in the Vietnam’s Red Book. Such as! green cypress, Nothotsuga, Podocarpaceae, red walnut, etc. The flora in Hoang Lien is split into various grades and layers. At the base of the mountain range, you will find cotton trees, jack trees with relatively large density, forming landscapes like Coc Leu, Coc San, etc.
From here up to a height of 700 m are tropics belts with thick primitive forest sides, and interlace creepers. In the peak from upward, there are bare seed trees layers like fokienia hodginsii, including trees with a height of 50 to 60m, having existed for hundreds of years.
From the height of 2,800 m, there are brushes of bamboo with an elevation of 25-30 cm, covering land surface. There are also some trees of species like sedge, increased, and gold thread households growing among these trees. Visitors travelling to Hoang Lien National Park are to participate in attractive Eco tourism. Here, visitors may have a possibility to feel moments of seasons shifting between four seasons in one hour.
