Tu Lan Cave

Along with famous caves like Thien Duong and Son Doong. But the lesser known Tu Lan cave system is also contributing to the attraction of Phong Nha Ke Bang with its visitors. The system was discovered in 2009 in Tan Hoa village, Minh Hoa district. It’s about 70km northwest of Phong Nha.

Currently, there are about 8 different caves. But that are not well visited by many visitors in Quang Binh, a region famous for its beautiful cave systems.

How to discover Tu Lan Cave?

The road to Tu Lan cave must be forested, so visitors should be equipped with forest clothing with full of clothes, backpacks dedicated, headgear mounted with special gloves and shoes. Without any item, your trip may be difficult and dangerous. The personal belongings you will have to bring along. But the food and tents will be carry by professional porters.

Crossing the stream to Tu Lan cave will be an unforgettable experience. If gentle streams, clambering in your pat crescent cliffs, hiccup is the tough challenge. The journey depends mainly on your ingenuity, persistence and courage. After a walk through the stream and climb a mountain. In the midst of hot summer temperatures, your clothes are soaked when you wade in the stream. That will become a great treat when you go ashore or climb the cliff.

The most interesting part of the Vietnam trip is when you come to the Tu Lan Cave System. You are swimming in the dark cave to conquer about 5 different caves. The cave roofs and soaring cave is unpredictable, hundreds of meters wide and peaceful as the giant swimming pool. Especially the narrow space and full of slippery. With the life jacket, you just peace of mind dropping drifting lightly, using lights on the hat shining on the cave wall to see the strange stalactites.

The water in the cave is so cool, while in your ears only the sound of the pool of the swimmer echoes calmly. At the end of the swim, you walk up and watch countless stalactites, hollows of various shapes. You will take this surprise to the other before the magic of nature. There are elaborate flat agate tables next to the stalactites creating a natural pool. That makes everyone think of a fairy beach for the beautiful fairies.

The last stop of the Tu Lan cave system is a large dry dome. There are two large arched doors that make the light penetrate quite deeply, helping to observe the stalactite system of many forms. The result of millions of years of geopolitical motions are round pebbles, black slabs of artistic motifs, shimmering shimmers like gold or glittering stalactites.

Finish the treasure hunt. You will camp by a small lake at the entrance of a large cave and have white stunted butterflies. Also this is time for enjoy dinner. This gives you the feeling of going back to life thousands of years ago with flickering stove and barbecue skewers.
