When is the best time to go to Mu Cang Chai?

A: The distance from Hanoi to Mu Cang Chai is about 280km. If traveling by bus, it will take a day. You can stay in Tu Le or Mu Cang Chai town, take a rest and walk around Nui Pho. On day 2, you spend all day wandering the beautiful terraces, you should rent a motorbike to go.

  • By train (Hanoi – Yen Bai ~ 247 Km) then from Yen Bai you can go here by taxi or motorbike
  • Travel with Car/Taxi ~ 6 hours ~ 280km

From Sapa:

  • It’s better to use private car(~ 4 hours for 183km) – Local bus available but not comfortable.
