| Jasmine Cruises: |
Halong jasmine was organised and professional. good english speaking staff with a professional approach to service. the vessel itself was modern, clean, and luxurious. the food was superb. how do they produce such good food in such vast quantities in such a short space of time ? once we were on board we could just relax and know that the staff were taking care of things. sitting on the balcony watching the world of halong bay go by as we slowly made our way through the islands was just what the doctor ordered. looking at all the other junks on the water around us, we were glad to be on halong jasmine and not on them. the vessel is about 2 or 3 years old, and it’s fitout matches . just great. the safes were easy to use, and still worked. the little side trips were well organised and ran smoothly. thank you everybody from halong jasmine..View details … |
| Emeraude Cruise: |
|
In 1910 a paddle steamer called the Emeraude was offering unforgettable cruises in Halong Bay for visitors to what was then French Indochina. The Emeraude was part of a flotilla owned by the Roque family who had left Bordeaux in 1858 in search of adventure and fortune. Over a period of more than 50 years they found both. After several ups and downs including successful trading and timber businesses, near bankruptcy and being taken hostage by pirates, the Roque brothers built Emeraude, Perle, Saphir, Rubis and Onyx to ferry passengers and freight along the waterways of Indochina and cruise on magnificent Halong Bay. | Paloma Cruise: |
We ve just been on an overnight cruise In Halong Bay, Paloma were highly recommended by some fellow travellers and they were right. Its a bit more expensive than some (we managed to get a last minute discount) but its a brand new boat and it shows, its shining clean, very attentive staff, catering staff made a lot of effort to please the non-shellfish-eater and food was generally very good. Having heard varying reports on the weather this time of year, we were lucky to have sunny/partly cloudy days which showed the stunning scenery very well.Halong Bay is a must see destination, we are so glad that we made the trip and wouldnt hesitate to recommend paloma. | Huong Hai Junks – Cruises: |
With the growth of Vietnam tourism’s industry, the fragile junks that one traversed Halong Bay gave way to to noisy motorboat catering to day trippers from Hanoi. Then, three years ago, the bay’s residents were shocked by the appearance of luxury yachts.Huong Hai, one of several companies that operate high-end yachts in the bay, which their fleets of boats were modeled after the 18th century craft used by Vietnam Nguyen’s dynasty. The upper desk was designed to look like an ancient Chinese palace, compete with circular doors and pillars. Starring up at the craft’s three red sails reminding of the romantic short history of” Red Sails” by the Russian writer Alexander Grin, in which poor young woman dreams of a prince whisking her away in a boat with red sails.
