Feature: Northwest loop Vietnam A more challenging and remote alternative to the Northwest loop, this incredible route takes you through verdant vistas and mountain ranges, along lakes and rivers, and through jungle and tiered paddy fields rising and falling as far as the eye can see. Along the way, You’ll be hosted by different hill tribes wearing amazingly elaborate and colourful costumes. These are people who have been living in the hills for a centuries, and their ways of life have little changed from generation to generation.
Northeast loop Vietnam A mountainous areas of Ha Giang offer breathtaking views and interesting subcultures. It is the least travelled area of the north and attracts hardier travellers craving a glimpse of some of the more remote ethnic minority people.
Day 1: Good morning Hanoi
Xin chao Vietnam ! Welcome to Hanoi, we will meet and take you to your hotel, check-in and today is free at your leisure to rest or explore, discovering your own first impressions of Vietnam. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Ha Noi – Ba Be Lake
Pick-up from your hotel at 7.00 am, we leave for Bac Kan. During the 6hour-drive, we will drop in at Thai Nguyen city for one hour visit to Vietnam museum of Ethnology (take a coffee break here if you like). For about 3 hours ahead before noon that we can arrive at the destination, we will stop at Bac Kan town for lunch (just a good local food stall). Then, until 3.00 pm, we arrive to the village of Tay minority people inside the Ba Be National Park. Check-in our home stay and refresh by a short leisurely walk in the park around, maybe some swimming if the weather permits. Back home for dinner, then a talk of local culture or custom before bedtime.

Day 3 : Day 2: Boating into the three lakes of Babe
Wake up by the bird chirping, this will be the scarce moment of tranquility that we feel the isolation from the cities bustling and very close to nature. Breakfast then start discovering the subtle and imposing beauty of the area just on the local boat. We glide along the lakes, river and through the pretty cave to a powerful waterfall, the whole journey offers great natural scenery. After lunch at a food stall nearby the waterfall, we boat back into the tranquil Ba Be lakes for its majesty, great and so fresh swimming here. Trek after that through the ethnic minority villages back our home. Dinner then sleep the second night at the house on stilts.

Day 4: Trekking back to Ba Be Lake – Leave for CaoBang
Again, take the moment of fresh air in the morning. Do the breakfast leisurely before taking last walk into the park (A bike or motorbike ride alternatively is also a great fun). Do the check-out, say goodbye to the host and leave this small village for Tuyen Quang.

Day 5 :Cao Bang – Ha Giang
This day is very long day for us on car, it take around 8hours, but it’s great, not to many traffic, Continue your trip to Hagiang with many stop over on the way: visit village and meet Tay and Dzao people, taking photos, rural market.
arrive Hagiang Around 5pm, Hotel check in for overnight in the town.

Day 6: Ha Giang – Dong Van
Depart in the early morning to visit the wonderful world of ethnic minorities people. Going on the moutain with many impressive sceneries and visiting many basically ethnic villages and colourful weekly markets. Lunch at Quang Ba town. Overnight in Dong Van guest house. ( there is a sunday market in DongVan town )

Day 7: Dong Van – MeoVac – Vi Xuyen
Turn back to Ha Giang from Dong Van. Continually to discover some cheerful and colourful ethnic Markets on the way. Lunch at Yen Ninh town. Enjoy ThanhHa resort hot stream. Visit Hmong villages and Trang village near ThanhHa Resort. Overnight in Thanhha Resort.

Day 8: HaGiang – PhoRang – Bac Ha
Leave for BacHa via YenBinh, Tuyen Quang province. This day is a hard travelling by car but there will be beautiful scenery on route. Bacha, hill tribe people from far and wide make the weekly journey to trade goods at the busy Sunday market, their heavily embroidered clothing and distinctive headdress adding color and vibrancy. Overnight at Saomai hotel.

Day 9 : CanCau market – BacHa ( on Saturday only )
Visit CanCau Market – an outstanding feature of ethnic people in the North. Or visit BacHa market which is organized weekly only in Sunday. 2 hour trekking to discover villages of ethnic minorities (SanDiu, HaNhi, Xa …) that remain natural and unspoiled by tourists. Buying souvenir from ethnic people. Short walk to discover some surrounding villages (4-6 hours) with local guide.Overnight in Saomai Hotel.

Day 10 : BacHa – SaPa( on Sunday only )
Visit Bacha market on Sunday morning. Then transfer to Sapa. Trekking to the H’mong and Red Dao villages of Ta Phin hamlet, we are introduced to a different way of life as we enjoy the genuine hospitality of these hill tribe people. A truly satisfying day filled with insight and the unspoilt beauty of nature. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 11: Sapa – Laochai – TaVan
Enjoy the overall pictures of the villages among terraces. Visit the H’mong living in wooden and bamboo houses. Transfer by jeep or van and trekking to Tavan village to visit the Dzay minority.
Take the road to GiangTaChai village of the Red Dzao minority via the paths between terraces and through bamboo forests. Visit silver waterfall and suspension Rattan Bridge, visit the people in the village and then cross MuongHoa River up to the mountain to visit the last village of the trek – Supan village of the H’mong. Get back to Sapa by jeep. On the way back, enjoy visiting the ancient stone circle where stones are decorated with ancient carvings. Check in hotel in Sapa.

Day 12: Sapa – Than Uyen
As we traverse Tram Ton Pass, the highest mountain pass in Viet Nam, we are afforded magnificent views and experience a dramatic change of climate. Overnight at guesthouse in ThanUyen.

Day 13 : ThanUyen – MucangChai – YenBai
continue to YenBai. Stop over in MucangChai. Sometimes steep and often rugged, the road through the valley is both breathtaking and dramatic. Hugging rice terraced mountainsides and fording turbulent rivers, our travels today are visually spectacular. Enjoy sightseeing on the route.

Day 14 : YenBai – ThacBa lake – Hanoi
Take a boat trip to ThacBa hydro-electric reservoir in YenBai. Enjoy sightseeing and stop for soft trekking before returning to Hanoi.

Day 15 Hanoi Free Shopping
Today is your free day in the Hanoi capital and all of its fascinating historical charm. Spend your day relaxing or shopping. Some suggestions include waking up early (about 6:00 am) and joining in some exercise around Hoan Kiem Lake; or taking a cyclo tour around the Old Quarter for a different point of view; or visiting the numerous markets, shopping and trying the all of street side traditional foods. Overnight in town.

Day 16: Departure from Hanoi to your home or next destination
We will pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Noi Bai International airport for your flight to home, your luggage full of a lifetime’s worth of memories. We wish you a pleasant journey.
